10 things you should not do in Japan

No matter how long you spent in Japan or what you thought you knew about. There is always something we do without attention and perception, whether it is just an unintentional mistake or otherwise.

1) Put the right side of the kimono / yukata above the left side.

Do not fold your kimono or yukata in this way at all. Always be careful to fold the left side on the right side.

2) Speak loudly on the subway.

This seems obvious, you can find this rule of etiquette written in any guide: do not talk too loud in the subway. It is a quiet place where discussions are low.

3) Do not put the garbage incorrectly.

7) Do not walk / stand on the right side of the stairs / elevator.
